Ayaah

Ayaah graduated in January 2000 from the University Graz of drama & arts with special honours. While studying Jazz she had the chance to work with great American vocalists such as Mark Murphy, Sheila Jordan, Michelle Hendricks and Jay Clayton. She performed with the University Big Band in Austria and Croatia , worked in several Jazz-Quintetts, Quartetts and Duo's as well as being a lead singer in several Funk- and Soulbands around Austria , Switzerland and Germany . Besides performing live she contributed her voice to film scores such as “Kommissar Rex”, “Schloßhotel Orth” as well as for “ORF”-Tv-Productions and Commercials.

After studying she stayed in Vienna for another year in order to work vocally and as a teacher among a post graduate programme. After that she returned to Vorarlberg at the Lake of Constance , where she teaches vocals, performance, theory & ear training since 2001 at the Jazzseminar Dornbirn. Ayah led the Jazz Academy Zeillern in 2001 and gave workshops in Italy and around Vorarlberg. She began to compose, arrange & produce her own music at an early stage and is permanently working on it. Her music contains elements of Jazz, Soul, R'n'B, Pop and House Music. She just returned from the States (New York / New Jersey) where she worked with R'n'B- and House-producers as well as with a Gospel Choir at a Baptist Church in order to experience the roots of all her favourite vocal styles that have influenced her all along the way.
